The Factory Metal Works Builds Butch Walker A Stretched Out Triumph Article By: Chris Callen Photos By: Fran Kuhn Music and motorcycles have gone together since, well, probably since the first cat rode the first motorcycle and started humming a tune as he moved on down the road. Now I'm not sure what it is that makes these two separate worlds have so many similarities, but for whatever reason it is that draws a person to one, they also tend to be drawn to the other. As a bass player, I can tell you that in a crowd of motorcyclists I can generally pick out other musicians among us. It makes sense since the only thing that's harder to make a living at than music, is probably the motorcycle industry. We hard-headed, sons-a-bitches tend to end up bike builders and publishers with weekend gigs shreddin' with the boys. That is until one or the other takes over and even then, the other isn't far away. Read More... |

| Daytona 2012 A Different Kind Of Bike Week Article By: Chris Callen Photos By: Sara Liberte So what could have been so different about Daytona you might ask? For me, this was a very special year. You see, for the past five years I've been so wrapped up in running the Limpnickie Lot, that I found myself running out of time and could hardly enjoy the week in the sun which was how we typically kicked off the year. This time, I had removed myself from those responsibilities and left the week open for its intended purpose. It started when I heard that Lemme and Darren were coming for their first trip to Daytona. They had a monster plan that included a ten city tour across the country, and God I would have given anything to have been part of that debauchery. Instead, I was keenly at work tuning the '49 for her first real run... Read More... |

| Harley-Davidson's '12 Softail Slim A Cycle Source First Ride Article By: Rob Keller Photos By: Riles & Nelson As the years go by, I never thought that we would get to relive the past. There were some really cool cars, trucks and motorcycles that have rolled off the assembly lines that had a unique style about them. Most of these vehicles were only manufactured for one or two model years and then they would never be produced again. In my opinion, muscle cars like the 1968 Camaro, a 1970 Dodge Challenger or the 1969 Mustang were some of the best looking automobiles that were ever manufactured. They were here today and gone tomorrow with not many of them staying out of the scrap yards. If you were lucky enough to have purchased one of these relics, you probably wish that you would have held on to it because they are worth a pile of cash now! Read More... |

A Trip To Traxxion Dynamics
Real American Suspension Article & Photos By:Jeremy Johnson One of the long, overlooked aspects of the Harley has been the suspension. They have lacked the performance that the Japanese brands of motorcycles have. Harleys are supposed to be American made, right? However, for years they have used Showa suspension; the same suspension you could get on a 1968 Honda CB750. Now Showa is a well known name and has been around since 1938 - almost a hundred years. Don't get me wrong, they know what they're doing but it's still a Japan based company. For a couple years in the seventies, Harley used a company named Kayaba, but this company was so smart, they didn't even use bushings in their sliders. This did nothing... Read More... |

| Sara Liberte's Full Throttle Rock Butch Walker Article By: Sara Liberte Recently, Chris called me up and re-arranged my routine, like he usually does, with the line: "Hey man, we are putting Butch Walker's bike on the cover this month. Do you want to run a story on him for Full Throttle Rock to go along with this issue?" How the hell was I supposed to say no to that? Chris sent out an intro email, and it was on. I'd like to first point out how amazingly down to earth and genuine this guy is. I mean, I have been chasing down a few musicians or "talent" for this column and they act like they are the biggest rock stars in the world and are so unavailable. Like really, you don't have 40 minutes for a phone call? Butch Walker actually has the creds and the dude really is too busy for a 40 minute phone call... Read More... |
